DECOLONIZING KINK
Decolonizing Kink is a consulting and training program designed for members of the kink/BDSM community, event organizers, and hosts of play spaces who want to build safer, more liberatory environments rooted in consent, agency, embodiment, and cultural humility. This offering explores how colonialism, patriarchy, anti-Blackness, and other systems of domination shape how we experience power, desire, and play — and how we can unlearn those scripts to co-create spaces of deeper safety, erotic authenticity, and collective care.
Target Audience:
Kink/BDSM educators
Hosts of public and private play parties
Dungeons, sex-positive spaces, and kink community leaders
Consent monitors, event safety staff
Queer- and BIPOC-led kink collectives seeking anti-oppressive frameworks
Program Goals:
Participants will:
Understand how colonial systems shape current kink dynamics and power structures
Identify and unlearn internalized messages about worth, desire, control, and punishment
Explore the intersections of trauma, pleasure, and consent
Gain practical tools for co-creating play spaces that are culturally responsive and emotionally safe
Learn trauma-informed, community-centered approaches to accountability and repair
